What to ask your integrator

A short list of questions that separate a designed job from a hardware dump.

Use these before you sign. If the answers are vague, the job will be vague.

  1. What are we trying to see, and at night? Ask for a camera-by-camera purpose, not a count.
  2. Where is the drawing? A bid without a site or floor plan is a guess.
  3. Who pulls cable, and to whose spec? If “we’ll figure it out on site,” budget more.
  4. What is the PoE and storage math? Watts per camera. Days of retention. Written.
  5. If there is a wireless hop, who surveyed the path? Photos of both ends, not a product distance chart.
  6. What happens at commissioning? A punch list you can walk, including passwords and a backup of the config.
  7. Who services this in year two? If the answer is only a phone number on an invoice, keep looking.

Bring this list to a design consultation if you want us to produce the answers instead of interrogating a bid.
