Gated infrastructure sites
Utilities, substations, water and pump sites, telecom huts, and remote compounds behind a gate — power is there; backhaul often is not.
Representative gate — boom arm, access pedestal, and the lane cameras and radios usually cover.
Gated infrastructure means power and a fence. It rarely means fiber to the gate house.
These sites are not office parks. They are a building or a pad, a gate, and a perimeter that has to be seen from somewhere an operator can reach. Peplink cellular, or Starlink Business into a Cambium NSE on cnMaestro X, lands as a head-end; Cambium point-to-point branches to cameras and access at the far corner.
At the gate itself the hardware is familiar — boom, pedestal, mag lock — but the unlock path is the design: Gate Hub with G3 Intercom or Reader Pro for unknowns, Mobile Unlock over Bluetooth when an authorized phone is near the reader, and Protect License Plate Unlock when known plates should open the lane without a phone tap.
We design for maintenance access, limited staff, and gear that has to survive outside. NDAA-compliant camera choices where required. We do not run utility construction or high-voltage work — network, cameras, and access design only.
Site atmosphere
Representative stills — not client photos. The gate is obvious; the design work is the reader, the camera shot on the plate, and the hop that reaches the compound.
How entry works
The gate is simple. Getting authorized people through it is the design.
A short visual of the approach path we specify — phone BLE at the reader, or plate recognition when the site wants hands-free vehicle entry.
Approach, unlock, enter — illustrated
Authorized phones unlock over Bluetooth when they are near a UniFi Access reader at the pedestal (Mobile Unlock). For drive-up without a phone tap, Protect License Plate Unlock / LPR allow-lists open the same gate when the plate is known. Intercom still covers unknown visitors.
